Don't see your situation? Most cases don't fit neatly in a box. Tell us what's going on and we'll tell you honestly whether we can help.
Justice runs in this family. So does knowing how to keep a confidence.
Under Appeal comes from a long line of lawmakers and public servants: people who spent their careers making, upholding and arguing the law. That history shapes how we work. We know what evidence a court will accept, what a judge needs to see and where the legal lines are.
Our founder, Jake Marshall, holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice and leads a network of trusted investigators and contacts from Fort Collins to Denver and out to the Nebraska line. That means more eyes when a case needs them, faster response when timing matters and someone who already knows the roads, courthouses and communities you're dealing with.
We're not here for drama. We're here to find out what's true, write it down carefully and help you take your next step with confidence.

How we protect you and your case
Evidence gathered the wrong way can hurt you in court. Everything we do is lawful, documented and defensible.
What we always do
- Keep your identity and your case strictly confidential
- Maintain chain of custody on every photo, video and record
- Contact you only the way you've told us is safe
- Give you an honest assessment, even when it isn't what you hoped to hear
What we'll never do
- Place tracking devices without legal authority
- Access phones, email or accounts that aren't yours
- Trespass, record private conversations or misrepresent ourselves to get protected records
- Take a case where we suspect someone could be put in danger
From the Front Range to the eastern plains
Our investigators know this ground, from Denver courtrooms to county roads past Sterling. We know how to blend into a Fort Collins neighborhood or a metro office park, and how to work quietly in a small plains town where an unfamiliar car gets noticed.

Questions people ask before they call
Is everything I tell you kept confidential?
Yes. Your first conversation, your identity and every detail of your case stay between you and our team. We don't discuss clients, even to say whether we've worked with someone.
Will the person I'm asking about find out?
Not from us. Discretion is the core of this work. We'll also talk with you about how to keep your own phone, email and browsing private while the case is open.
Is hiring a private investigator legal in Colorado?
Yes. Surveillance in public places, public-records research and witness interviews are all lawful. We stay well inside the law so that what we find can actually be used.
Can your findings be used in court?
That's how we build every report. We document date, time and location, keep a chain of custody on all evidence and can testify if your attorney needs us to.
How much does an investigation cost?
It depends on the work involved. Most cases are billed hourly plus mileage, against a retainer. You'll get a written estimate before anything begins.
Do you work with my attorney?
Often. Many of our cases come through family law, criminal defense and civil firms. With your permission we'll coordinate directly with your legal team.
Start with a private conversation
There's no cost and no commitment. Tell us as much or as little as you're comfortable with, and we'll reach out the way you choose.
If you share a phone or computer with the person you're concerned about, consider calling from a different device and clearing your browser history after visiting this site.
